3 Main Supplies That You Will Need to Care for Your Artificial Turf

Artificial grass is not the same as natural grass. Natural grass needs time, professional care and a proper understanding of how it behaves throughout the seasons. If you live in a place where the weather does not allow grass to flourish or have patches of brown grass on your lawn, you can supplement it with artificial turf. When you choose to install artificial turf on your lawn, you simplify the maintenance processes you have to deal with.

However, the turf also needs care if you want it to look pleasant for a long time. Knowing the right supplies and procedures to follow for your turf's maintenance will help you keep your lawn fresh and beautiful for a long time. Here are three main types of turf supplies you will need for the process.

Supplies to Use for the Installation

There are certain supplies you will need before installing the turf. These include layers of soil to place underneath, turf glue, staples, tape, crumb removers and other items you will need for the installation.  Ask the supplier what you might need and get it beforehand.

Supplies to Remove Mild Stains

Some of the common sources of mild stains on your turf include pet urine and droppings, alcohol, and food stains. These stains will look very ugly when left unattended for a long time. The proper cleaning processes and supplies will preserve the fibres of the turf from damage.

Ask for a mild cleaning detergent made specifically for cleaning turf. You can use ammonia-based cleaning supplies for stronger stains, but make sure that they are not too concentrated to damage the grass.

Supplies for Brushing the Lawn

In addition to cleaning, you need to make sure the fibres remain straight and unmated for a long time. Brushing the lawn regularly ensures that you remove all the soil and other debris that might have been deposited on it. With regular brushing, your turf can last between 15 and 25 years.

However, you also need to be careful about the materials you use for the process. A brush with plastic bristles will be the best option for a turf lawn. The supplier will show you the ideal brush for the function. Avoid metallic rakes because they force the fibres to matt and lie down.

Choose a professional to help you with the right supplies and also with the installation and maintenance process. This will help you extend the life and maintain the beauty of your grass for decades.
